This worked out surprisingly well, considering how certain puzzles and tasks turned out to be.Ĭreepy Tale 2 progresses through chapters without checkpoints, which is okay since the game doesn’t take that long to beat. This time around the devs went for something super simplistic with minimal choices when it comes to the base gameplay, only utilizing 7 keys. I would’ve loved some consistently fast movement speed throughout the game. Things get very repetitive during these sections. The game starts off with a neat playable prologue, introducing the game’s main characters and world setting, giving the player a decent preview into the game and what to expect from it.Īnd within this intro, the game sets up its plotline and character motivations.Īs you start your journey, the first thing you will notice is the obvious slow movement speed, which is okay until you get to certain sections of the game where you’ll need to go back and forth multiple times in order to complete tasks and solve puzzles. In the previous title, there was no narration or voice-over, but thankfully this one has some competent voice-over artists and well thought-out dialogues, which impacted the game greatly. With Buckthorn’s guidance, Lars decides to embark on a quest to save his beloved sister and stop the evil that is terrorizing these lands. Lars runs into the forest only to be rescued by an elderly dwarf named Buckthorn, a house spirit who lives nearby in a hollow tree so that he can come in handy whenever he is needed. Frightened, Lars decides to run for his life, jumping off the first-floor window. When asked if there is anyone else in the house, poor possessed Ellie points out that her brother is sleeping upstairs. Peeking from the upper staircase, Lars sees that his father has been killed by a demonic figure, and his sister Ellie is being offered a crown by a demonic child the same age as Ellie, who, upon placing the crown on Ellie’s head, possesses her. After a peaceful day's work, Lars finds himself tired and decides to hit bed early, only to be woken up by loud noises coming from downstairs. Plot: Following the same footsteps, Creepy Tale 2 explores the tragic story of our young braveheart, Lars, and his family. Heavily inspired by European folklore and Grimm's Fairy Tales Book by Jacob Grimm and Wilhelm Grimm, Creepy Tale 2 is bringing back the creepy universe from its predecessor.
